EJ McGrath Construction began work in Cardiff for Birse Civils in June 2010, firstly repaving the High Street.  The First Section of paving was completed in less than 7 weeks with our teams working 7 days a week including day and night shifts Monday – Thursday.

The section was completed ahead of schedule and even allowed time for the paving to be extended beyond the planned sectional completion area.  The completion date was of great importance as the UK’s second Armed Forces Day parade, attended by the Prince Charles and the Dutches of Cornwall, passing over the new paving, along with 80,000 members of the public.

We worked with Birse to ensure disruption to local residents, business and visitors was kept to a minimum and to ensure strict Health and safety procedures were followed at all times on the busy street.

Following our success on the first phase of the works we have continued moving up the High Street and onto St Mary’s Street.  We have also completed paving on the Cardiff Castle Road crossing and entrance, Womanby Street, Quay Street and Guildford Crescent.
