EJ McGrath Construction Ltd is a family-run civil engineering and groundworks contractor, founded in 2007 and based in Weston-super-Mare. We deliver groundworks, drainage, reinforced concrete and Section 278 highways packages for main contractors and public clients across South West England and South Wales.
The works are self-delivered by our own teams, supervision and plant, not subcontracted out, using CDM-compliant, QA-led methods. Clients and partners include NMCN, ISG, Alun Griffiths, Galliford Try, Kier, BAM Nuttall, North Somerset Council and Bristol City Council.
What we self-deliver
- Drainage & utilities: foul and surface-water drainage, attenuation, pumping stations, ducting and statutory diversions, to adoptable standards where required.
- Reinforced concrete: foundations, pile caps, ground beams, structural slabs and retaining walls, with formwork, rebar fixing and concrete finishes.
- Groundworks & earthworks: bulk and detailed excavation, muck-away, capping, piling mats and ground remediation.
- Surfacing & external works: roads, hardstandings, kerbing, block paving, natural-stone paving and hard landscaping.
- Infrastructure: Section 278/38 highways, S104/S185 adoptable works, box culverts and statutory service diversions.
- Vacuum excavation: our own T-VAC 2 unit for safe digging around live services, trial holes and service exposure, delivered in-house.
