Grade IIlisted building, conserved & resurfaced

As part of a carefully planned programme of works, we undertook the repair, conservation and resurfacing of the entrance ramps to a prominent Grade II listed building. The works demanded technical skill alongside real sensitivity to the building’s historical significance and public importance.

What we delivered

  • Dismantled, catalogued and conserved the existing feature flagstones, with damaged sections replaced in newly fabricated, like-for-like stonework to maintain the original aesthetic and meet heritage requirements.
  • Resurfacing in Tarmac Ulticolour, with on-site test panels laid so the conservation officer could select the most appropriate colour for the building.
  • Ulticolour hand-laid around the delicate reinstated stonework to avoid mechanical damage and achieve a precise, consistent finish.
  • Meticulous planning around tight site access and logistical constraints, maintaining safe, continuous access to the building for occupants, staff and visitors throughout the works.
  • Close working with the client, conservation officers and heritage consultants so all methods, materials and installation techniques were fully compliant with listed-building requirements.

Result: delivered on time and within budget with minimal disruption, and praised by the client and stakeholders for the quality of workmanship and the care taken around the site’s heritage.
